Why The Hair Mansion Is Now a No-Gratuity Salon

Let’s Talk About Gratitude, Value, and Change

Gratuity was always meant to be a gesture—a personal “thank you” for service that felt exceptional. But somewhere along the way, it stopped feeling optional. It became expected. Sometimes even automatic.

That’s never how I’ve approached my work.

At The Hair Mansion, I’ve always given everything I have to each guest—whether it’s your first visit or your fiftieth. The artistry, care, conversation, and results don’t shift based on the potential for extra. Because in my chair, exceptional is the standard, not the bonus.

What’s Changing—And Why It Matters

Beginning July 9, 2025, The Hair Mansion will officially transition to a no-gratuity pricing model.

That means:

All pricing will be fully inclusive

Gratuity will no longer be accepted

Your visit will feel complete from start to finish—no tipping, no awkward moments, no guessing

Instead of asking you to calculate or wonder what’s appropriate, I’m taking that off your plate completely. One clear investment. One beautiful experience. No pressure.

Why Now?

The short answer: because it’s time.

After 10 years of growth, evolution, and thoughtful refinement, I’m choosing to shift this final piece of the experience into something more aligned—with my values, with the level of service I provide, and with the trust my guests place in me.

While many stylists build pricing around gratuity assumptions, I never have. For the last five years, I’ve kept my service prices steady—even as the industry, product costs, and operating expenses have climbed dramatically. This new model includes a pricing adjustment of approximately 20–30%, not as a reaction—but as a thoughtful reflection of the time, detail, and education built into every appointment.

For Guests Who’ve Tipped Generously…

Please know I’ve always been deeply grateful. But I’ve never expected it. And now, you won’t have to wonder if it’s needed—because the answer is no.

For Guests Who Prefer Clarity…

This is for you. No more doing math. No more deciding what feels “right.” Your experience is already whole. The value is built in.

What Doesn’t Change

— The personal, one-on-one care

— The time and artistry behind every detail

— The level of service you’ve always known

What’s changing is the moment at the end of your visit—the one where you can now take a breath, book your next appointment, and walk out feeling completely taken care of.

A Final Thought

It’s about presence. It’s about value. It’s about respect for the guest experience and for the work I do.

This change won’t affect the way I show up—

It simply reflects the way I always have.

As I celebrate 10 years of The Hair Mansion, I’ve been reflecting on what matters most—creative freedom, lasting relationships, and a service experience that’s grounded in gratitude, not gratuity.

With all my gratitude,

The Hair Mansion
