What 10 Years Behind the Chair Taught Me

A Decade of Growth, Connection, and Showing Up

Ten years ago, I opened The Hair Mansion with a vision—to create more than a place for beautiful hair. I wanted to build something personal, intentional, and deeply human. A space where guests could feel like themselves—or discover new parts of themselves—with every visit.

Ten years ago, I opened The Hair Mansion with a vision…

These past ten years have been unlike any before them. I’ve been behind the chair for over three decades, but something changes when the space becomes your own. You don’t just design the cuts—you design the energy, the atmosphere, the experience. Every guest, every conversation, every transformation becomes part of your story.

The beauty’s in the process—messy, focused, and full of intention.

Three generations, one chair, and a decade of trust between us.

The space itself has changed, too—quietly and intentionally—just like the people who fill it. Every update, every detail has been shaped with care for how it makes you feel when you’re here. As The Hair Mansion grows, I want it to keep reflecting the beauty of what we’ve built together.

But it’s never just about the space. It’s about the people.

I’ve met incredible humans I never would have crossed paths with if not for the chair. Women, men, teens, kids—each with their own story, their own rhythm, their own relationship with their hair. I get to be a small part of their lives, and they become a big part of mine.

Over the years, I’ve watched guests step into new jobs, new relationships, and new seasons of life. I’ve done their color before weddings, their kids’ first haircuts, the fresh fringe before that long-awaited vacation. I’ve listened to heartbreaks, business ideas, parenting struggles, and belly laughs. I’ve watched little ones grow taller than me. We’ve grown older together—navigating pregnancies, stress, hair loss, gray blending, and gorgeous reinventions.

Hair is personal. But so is the connection.

Some of that connection shows up in the transformations we’ve created—where trust and technique come together. For our ten-year anniversary, I shared ten of those moments in a visual gallery. Not just to show what changed on the outside, but to honor the stories, the trust, and the energy behind each one.

It’s more than a fresh cut and color—it’s a moment of confidence reclaimed.

You’re welcome to explore them—but this space here is where I share what all those years have taught me.

When someone leaves my chair—whether for a new chapter, a move, or just time—I feel it. I think of them. I hope they’re doing well. Because when you sit in my chair, it’s never just about hair. It’s trust. It’s care. It’s a relationship I never take for granted.

The days start early, but the care runs deep. Every visit, every guest, every time.

After three decades behind the chair, I’ve seen perms rise, fall, and rise again. I’ve held a thousand ponytails for bold first cuts, reassured nervous brides, and yes—I’ve heard “just an inch” about a million times. And I still love every minute of it.

This work has taught me that connection is the one thing human nature can’t live without. Real, authentic connection. It’s what lights us up. What heals. What grounds us.

Here’s to the next season of growth and evolution.

To a newly renovated space, ready to hold even more moments.

To elevating ourselves to higher heights—together.

With love, gratitude, and deep respect,
